London Design Festival 2019

End of an exhausting but hugely fun couple of days exploring London during design week.

There was so much to enjoy from FOCUS at the Design Centre to the endless design trials throughout central London, from Chelsea to Brompton to Pimlico to Shoreditch to Kings Cross and so it goes on. Not only is it hard to narrow it down but impossible to see everything but here are our top 5 highlights in no particular order.

  1. Fermoie new collection: Shell Grotto, Lucent and Abbey Stripe. All gorgeous and each available in a wonderful palette of colours.

  2. Christopher Farr Cloth in collaboration with Turquoise Mountain: working closely with cooperatives in Kabul, Afghanistan. Exquisite needlework and so sympathetic to the original Christopher Farr Cloth designs. Top image is the unique embroidered version of their ever-popular Carnival fabric. Below is the stunning Neisha Crosland fabric, showing the front and back.

  3. Blithfield's stand designed by Kit Kemp and working with Fine Cell Work, our kind of heaven, pattern upon pattern with a riot of colour.

  4. Lighting designed by Viola Lanari as part of the Porta Romano’s latest collection. We love these wall sconces.

  5. And finally and no means least I enjoyed a fabulous and insightful talk by Dylan from A Rum Fellow. The heart and soul that goes into producing each of their incredible fabrics. A labour of love.
