Salzburg and the Christmas markets

I was very spoilt and invited on a fabulous girls' weekend to Salzburg, for a much needed break from the chaos of  London life and to explore the beauty of Salzburg.  Salzburg is a stunning city with incredible views of the alps and what better time to go than early December when the Christmas markets are in full swing. I completely fell in love with this city, the birth place of Mozart and the setting for the film "The Sound of Music", a childhood favourite. Our first day was spent walking in the hills above Salzburg, a wonderful snowy walk and the second day in the city itself. I adore markets (and on this weekend the delicious schnapps!)
