A late summer afternoon of connection, conversation, and colour
Join us for a special Truffles and Ruffles lunch in the stunning surroundings of Cooke’s House Flowers in West Sussex - home to flower grower Marianne Milne. This is a chance to pause, connect, and embrace a slower pace, surrounded by nature, creativity, and beauty.
We’ll begin with a generous, seasonal three-course lunch, thoughtfully prepared by Sophie of Edible Food Design. Expect colourful plates celebrating the best of late summer’s produce, served at a long table beneath open skies or dappled shade.
As always, this is more than just a lunch — it’s a chance to connect with other creatives, swap ideas, and enjoy rich conversation in a relaxed, inspiring setting.
After lunch, we’ll join Marianne for a guided walk around her flower farm – a haven of scent, colour, and texture – before picking your own selection of seasonal blooms to take home.
About the venue
Cooke’s House Flower Co is based at the historic Cooke’s House, a listed property with 13th-century origins nestled in the South Downs. In the last century, it was a haven for artists, including English Impressionist John de Glenn and the Danish “Painter of Light,” Vilhelm Hammershøi. Garden designer Gertrude Jekyll was a regular visitor and even helped shape the garden’s early design.
Today, Marianne has spent over 25 years lovingly restoring and enhancing the gardens. With a background in Design, Horticulture, and Floral Design (McQueens), she launched Cooke’s House Flower Co to grow unusual, organic flowers for her own work and for commercial clients.
This will be a truly sensory afternoon - designed to feed your creativity and leave you feeling inspired.
