Fabric Snug x Truffles & Ruffles: A Sustainable Tablescape Collaboration
We are delighted to collaborate once again with Sharon from Fabric Snug, whose beautifully crafted textiles bring warmth, character, and sustainability to interiors. Based in Liverpool, Fabric Snug is a boutique textile business dedicated to creating soft furnishings with purpose - each piece tells a story, handcrafted with high-quality, locally sourced fabrics.

After the success of our first collaboration, we’re thrilled to be working together again - and even more excited to announce that Fabric Snug’s exquisite table linens are now available to purchase on our website! This marks a new chapter for Truffles & Ruffles, allowing us to share Sharon’s beautifully made pieces with our community.
We sat down with Sharon to hear more about the story behind Fabric Snug, her love of textiles, and what makes a truly special tablescape.
1. Tell us a little about Fabric Snug – how did it all begin, and what inspired you to start the brand?
Fabric Snug provides sustainable soft furnishings for inspired homes. Based in the wonderful city of Liverpool in the North West of England, our studio at the Bluecoat is a community arts space set within the most beautiful Georgian building.
Fabric Snug is a small, independent boutique textile business supplying a range of soft furnishings, including cushions, curtains, Roman blinds, seat pads, and table linens. At Fabric Snug, we believe that your home should be a reflection of your story. That's why we handcraft unique pieces using high-quality, locally sourced designer fabrics. We aim to empower creativity with limited-edition items that go beyond function - pieces that spark joy and inspire connection.
It all began with my love of textiles - bordering on obsession! I was constantly sourcing amazing fabrics and felt compelled to create with them. What started as making items for family and friends soon turned into a business, and I decided to devote myself fully to the venture. Fabric Snug has grown into an exciting business that brings joy both to me and to our wonderful clients.
2. What draws you to textiles, and how do you select the fabrics and patterns for your collections?
Textiles, to me, are like pieces of artwork with endless possibilities. I begin by selecting what I personally love and would use in my own home, keeping an open mind. This allows for a wonderfully eclectic mix of fabrics.
Composition is very important to me - I love working with natural materials. However, we are also incorporating more environmentally friendly options, using recycled fabrics. We love working with ginghams and stripes, often incorporating naturally dyed fabrics from Ian Mankin, who still weaves just up the road in Lancashire.
Sometimes, the creative process begins with a single fabric and the inspiration to transform it into something special. Other times, we collaborate with clients to bring their ideas to life. This process, combined with the expertise of our talented makers and fitters, ensures that every design is both beautiful and practical, with the finest attention to detail.
3. Your table linens are beautifully crafted - what do you think makes a truly special tablescape?
Tablescaping isn’t necessarily my area of expertise, so I always look to Truffles and Ruffles for inspiration! However, I’ve always believed that even the simplest touches—a well-chosen tablecloth and fresh flowers - can completely transform a dining experience.

Over the years, I’ve collected vintage tablecloths, napkins, glasses, and crockery, and I love seeing a mix-and-match approach that blends old and new pieces. It creates a layered, inviting, and personal feel that makes any gathering feel special.
4. Sustainability is becoming increasingly important in the world of interiors. How does Fabric Snug incorporate sustainable practices into its work?
We are passionate about creating beautiful pieces that are kind to the planet. Our skilled artisan makers, based in the UK, meticulously hand-finish each piece, ensuring heirloom quality and timeless charm.
We minimise waste by repurposing remnant fabrics, transforming them into one-of-a-kind pieces that bring sustainable luxury into the home. To further reduce waste, we supply cushion covers only, allowing clients to use pre-owned inserts. We are committed to making the most of every piece of fabric left over from our curtain-making and larger projects, ensuring nothing goes to waste.
5. Do you have a favourite piece or collection that holds special meaning for you?
Some of my favourite creations are the ones I’ve made for my granddaughters - things like dens and floor cushions that bring comfort and playfulness into their spaces.

I also love several seat pads we’ve crafted, which now have homes across the UK and USA. A particularly special project was making curtains for the HBO Magnolia Network’s interior design show, Happy to be Home with the Benkos. And, of course, I’m incredibly proud of the table linens we’ve created for Truffles and Ruffles’ networking lunches—it has been a joy to see them bring warmth and beauty to these special gatherings.
