We recently had the absolute pleasure of collaborating with the incredibly talented Natascha Maksimovic of Nat Maks, whose breathtaking marbled paper became the centerpiece of one of our most memorable tablescapes. Known for her expertise in the art of ‘Suminagashi’ marbling, Natascha created a stunning marbled paper tablecloth that truly transformed the table, bringing a sense of movement, depth, and artistry to the entire setting.
Nat, based in Margate, U.K., is a master of blending tradition with modern creativity. Her work draws from the time-honoured Japanese art of marbling, where ink is delicately floated on water to create intricate patterns, each one unique and impossible to replicate. The marbled paper she crafted for our event was a show-stopper—full of rich, avant-garde colours and mesmerizing swirls that set the tone for a dynamic and captivating tablescape.
What made this collaboration so special was not just the beauty of the final product, but the shared creative energy between us and Natascha. Her background in the film industry, where she worked alongside Sir Ridley Scott, shines through in the cinematic quality of her marbled pieces. Whether she’s designing for a home, a gallery, or in our case, a table setting, Natascha brings an artistic grandeur to everything she touches.
The tablecloth she designed for us was more than just a functional piece—it was art in its own right, elevating the dining experience with its bold, flowing patterns. It embodied the perfect balance of fluidity and intention, reflecting the thoughtful craftsmanship that goes into every piece Nat Maks creates.
We had such fun collaborating with Natascha, and the marbled tablecloth was a true highlight of the event. It’s always exciting to work with artists who push the boundaries of traditional craft, and we can’t wait to collaborate with Nat Maks again in the future.
