In our recent collaboration with Mary from Club Matters, we had the chance to showcase the versatility of their exquisite shagreen placemats and coasters over two consecutive lunches. Using the same collection, we created two completely different looks, each reflecting the seasonal beauty of flowers and food.
For the first lunch, we opted for a softer palette, pairing delicate buddleia blooms with placemats in gentle tones of mink, green, and blue. The combination of these pastel hues created a serene and elegant atmosphere, perfectly complementing the natural flow of the buddleia. The softness of the floral arrangement and the subtle color scheme made for an effortlessly chic tablescape.
The second lunch brought a vibrant change of pace. We introduced bold tulips, whose bright colors stood out against the striking coral shagreen mats. This pairing created an energetic and dynamic feel, transforming the table into a statement of strong, confident design. The coral mats added depth and a pop of color, making the tulips even more impactful.
This collaboration was a beautiful example of how the same foundational elements—in this case, Club Matters' gorgeous tableware—can be reimagined to evoke different moods and styles. From the soft elegance of buddleia to the bold drama of tulips, each lunch felt entirely unique while staying true to the seasonal theme.
