A Celebration of British Textiles and Creative Collaboration: Truffles & Ruffles Lunch at Julia Collins' Studio

After a heartwarming weekend with family, we’re thrilled to reflect on our recent Truffles & Ruffles lunch, held at the stunning studio of Julia Collins (@collinsandgreenart). This event was particularly special, not only because of the inspiring company but also because of the creative synergy that came to life through our collaboration with Elvira from Clovelly Cloth (@clovellycloth). Together, we created a tablescape that celebrated the beauty of British-made and designed textiles—something we hold close to our hearts.

A Tablescape with Soul: Elvira’s Handcrafted Linens

Elvira’s exquisite table linens truly brought our vision for this lunch to life. For the tablecloth, we used her beautiful Wide Stripe fabric in Bay, which provided the perfect subtle yet elegant foundation for the setting. The combination of its rich hues and wide stripes added a modern yet timeless touch to the table. Complementing this was the delicate Little Leaf fabric in Mist, which we used for napkins. The intricate leaf pattern added a layer of refinement, creating a harmonious balance between bold stripes and softer details.

The entire tablescape felt like a celebration of craftsmanship, and we were delighted to showcase Elvira's stunning work. British-made textiles are an essential part of our ethos, and working with talented designers like Elvira reaffirms our passion for curating meaningful, beautiful spaces. The thoughtful combination of her fabrics was the perfect accompaniment to the event's elegant yet laid-back atmosphere.

A Gorgeous Studio Setting

Julia’s studio was the perfect venue for this creative gathering. Surrounded by her art, the space felt both welcoming and inspiring—a haven for artistic minds. Her beautiful collection of affordable decorative and vintage art provided the perfect backdrop for the event, subtly complementing the delicate linens and tableware. The relaxed yet vibrant ambiance of the studio set the tone for a day filled with brilliant conversation and connection.

Details that Made the Day

We couldn’t talk about this lunch without giving a special shoutout to some of the other incredible elements that helped bring it all together. Julie from Lola Palooza London (@lolapaloozalondon) provided her stunning hurricane lanterns, which added a soft, magical glow to the table. The lanterns, with their hand-crafted quality and delicate design, paired beautifully with the fabrics, giving the table an enchanting atmosphere.

As always, Sophie from Edible Food Design (@edible_food_design) treated us to a delicious three-course meal that celebrated the best of seasonal ingredients. Her attention to detail is unmatched, with every course not only tasting incredible but visually aligning with the tablescape. It’s these thoughtful touches that make each Truffles & Ruffles lunch a feast for both the eyes and the palate.

The table was brought to life by the gorgeous floral arrangements from Minnow & Wolf (@minnowandwolf). The flowers added a fresh and vibrant touch to the space, mirroring the delicate colours of the fabrics and completing the look with a burst of nature.

Of course, we couldn’t forget to mention the talented Malek (@malekbenhamida), whose photography beautifully captured the essence of the day. His ability to preserve the candid moments of joy, laughter, and connection made this lunch all the more memorable.

Creative Collaboration

This lunch was a true testament to the power of collaboration and the beauty that can be achieved when creative minds come together. We’re endlessly grateful to Julia for opening up her studio to us and to Elvira for trusting us with her exquisite linens. The day was a celebration of British craftsmanship, creativity, and connection—all things that are at the core of Truffles & Ruffles.

A big thank you to all of our wonderful guests for joining us. The conversations sparked so much inspiration, and we left the lunch feeling energised and excited for the season ahead. There’s nothing like gathering with fellow creatives to share ideas and refresh our spirits as we head into a busy autumn!
