A Magical Summer Solstice at Merchant House: Collaboration with Rosie Dalia, The Yuta Shop & Edible Food Design

On the longest day of the year, we hosted an unforgettable Truffles & Ruffles lunch at the enchanting Merchant House in Charlbury, Cotswolds. This summer solstice gathering was a beautiful fusion of creativity, connection, and nature’s abundance, all brought to life by an incredible team of collaborators.

The Tablescape: A Perfect Harmony of Linens & Ceramics

The heart of our solstice celebration was the stunning tablescape, a collaboration that merged the expertise of Nikki from Rosie Dalia and Malek from The Yuta Shop. Nikki’s exquisite linens adorned the table with effortless elegance, setting a soft, summery foundation for our feast. Malek’s collection of Tunisian ceramics added depth and authenticity, with each piece carefully handcrafted and rich in detail. The harmonious blend of Nikki’s textiles and Malek’s ceramics created a tablescape that radiated warmth, artistry, and a true celebration of summer.

Gem from The Cotswold Flower Farm provided a breathtaking array of seasonal blooms that cascaded across the table, filling the space with colour and fragrance. The flowers, thoughtfully chosen to reflect the season, were a perfect complement to the setting, enhancing the natural beauty of the tableware and linens.

A Sumptuous Seasonal Feast

Sophie from Edible Food Design, our trusted culinary partner, prepared a delectable three-course vegetarian lunch that highlighted the best of summer’s produce. With each dish, Sophie crafted a menu that was both nourishing and beautiful, celebrating the vibrant flavours of the season. From fresh, colourful salads to indulgent desserts, every course was a joy to savour, adding to the sensory delight of the day.

Capturing the Moments

The day’s magic was captured beautifully by Malek Ben Hamida Photography. Malek’s keen eye and attention to detail preserved the essence of the event—from the intricate design of the tablescape to the joyful interactions over lunch. His photography truly encapsulated the spirit of the day: a celebration of creativity, community, and nature’s beauty.

A Soul-Soothing Sound Bath

The day concluded with an extraordinary sound bath experience in the garden, led by Claire from In Tune Wellbeing. Surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature, we surrendered to the soothing vibrations of the sound bath, allowing ourselves to be fully present in the moment. It was a deeply immersive, soul-replenishing experience that left everyone feeling restored and at peace.
