Our next lunch was in collaboration with The Mews Fabric and Furnishings, founded by Annabel Haan, the creative director and owner. Annabel has always been fascinated by buildings and homes, and after an 18-year career as a Director in a multinational property company, she decided to pursue her passion for interior design. She now sources and creates unique homeware and fabrics from both the UK and around the world, working closely with small artisan companies to produce original, beautiful pieces.
Hosted at Annie’s in Dulwich, Annabel gave a lovely talk after lunch about her new collection of fabrics, which she was about to launch. For the tablescape, we used her charming block print tablecloth and napkins, which added a subtle elegance to the setting. The hand-painted Spanish ceramics, including exquisite plates and a stunning platter, were adorned with a traditional bird and pomegranate design crafted by artisans in Spain. These pieces brought an authentic touch of old-world craftsmanship to the table, perfectly complementing the soft textiles and creating a harmonious blend of textures, colors, and artistry. It was a beautiful celebration of craftsmanship and design.
